Facial Cosmetic Procedures

Some of our surgeons have a special interest in providing cosmetic procedures that can give your face a more youthful appearance. Our staff can schedule a consultation to discuss some of the common procedures listed below:

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid enhancement, corrects sagging eyelids, bags or pouches beneath the eyes, as well as excess folds around the eyes. It is typically done in the office under intravenous sedation. It may be covered by your insurance if excessive eyelid skin is blocking your visual field.

Botox®

Botox® is injected in areas where active facial muscle contractions have created prominent wrinkles. Crows feet, worry lines and laugh lines are referred to as dynamic wrinkle lines, and all are treatable with this procedure. The injections create a small sting when given, and so are performed without anesthesia because they are virtually painless. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. Research has suggested, however, that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment's effect.

Chin surgery

A retruding or deficient chin can be brought forward with either a chin implants or moving a portion of your own lower jawbone. An excessively prominent chin can also be reduced in a similar fashion. Incisions for these procedures are typically made inside the mouth. This can often be performed in the office under IV sedation.

Facial liposuction

Facial liposuction is a common procedure designed for the permanent removal of fatty tissue from your cheeks, chin, and neck. Patients with good skin tone who have fatty deposits receive the best results from facial liposuction. It is not a treatment for obesity. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia on an outpatient basis in a hospital or surgical center.

Lip enhancement

The upper and lower lips can be augmented by varying degrees to make them fuller. The upper lip can be lifted to make it appear slightly larger and display you upper teeth more. Lip enhancement is usually performed under IV sedation in the office.

Scar revision

Facial scars from previous injuries or surgery can sometimes be reduced or minimized to make them less noticeable. Although it is impossible to totally erase scars, wounds that are wide, raised, or irregular can often be revised to make them more acceptable.

Skin rejuvenation

We offer the Physicians’ Choice line of skin care products. After your consultation, your doctor can prescribe a course of treatment for roughness, fine wrinkles, and irregular pigmentation of the skin. You will initially be started on a home skin care regimen, and then begin treatments in the office under your doctor’s guidance.
