Meet the Doctor
John J. Schier, DMD, MD
Dr. John Schier, Jr. is a full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He attended Park Tudor High School and then received a B.S. in economics from Vanderbilt University. He earned his D.M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and was inducted into the Matthew Cryer Honor Society and Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Schier’s specialty training is comprised of a six-year program at the Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. This included earning his M.D. in 2016 and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a general surgery internship at University Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center in New Orleans. His oral and maxillofacial surgery residency included a special emphasis in plastic and reconstructive surgery, head and neck surgery, and anesthesiology.
Dr. Schier is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical focus includes office anesthesia, dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, hard and soft tissue grafting, orthognathic surgery, treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders, benign pathology, and the management of oral and maxillofacial trauma.
In his free time, Dr. Schier enjoys playing tennis, golf, piano and guitar. He is excited to be back home in Indiana with his wife, Alana, and children, Jackson, Ava, and Trey.
